5 Reasons to Attend NERCPO

5 Reasons to Attend NERCPO

It's about 6-weeks away... That's right, it's the 3rd annual North East Regional Conference for Professional Organizers! But we affectionately call it NERCPO ... pronounced "nerck-poe."

Here are 5 good reasons you should be joining me at NERCPO this year:

1. It's a great bang for your buck.

You can't beat $79 for an all-day conference which includes 3 speakers, breakfast, lunch and tons of vendors to peruse. Having a State license as a social worker, I have to maintain CEUs each year and trust me when I tell you that $79 for a full day conference is awesome. My seminars are usually well over $100 and don't include meals!

2. You gain some amazing professional skills and tips for your business.

We have 3 amazing speakers lined up. Beth Carter will be talking Negotiating Styles & Know How. Jill Yesko will cover Home Inventory: A Profitable Income Stream. Maryann Murphy will give the lowdown on Presentations that Sell. I guarantee you'll glean nuggets from each of these three talks to help grow your business. And don't forget about the CEUs you can earn.

3. Networking opportunities abound.

The last two years we've had folks from CT, MA, NY, NJ, and NH. Talk about being able to stretch your outreach and grow your sphere of influence! It's so great to have so many folks in the room to talk shop with and who are as passionate about organizing as you are. The positive vibes are contagious! ***And special this year, we've opened up the conference to include non-organizing professionals. Life coaches, interior decorators, therapists, realtors, folks just interested in the industry, come join us! (Special rate applies for non-NAPO members.)***

4. You can build your team.

In the market for a junk service or a cabinet installer? We've got those! Our line-up of vendors is pretty impressive. It's always great to look like the all-knowing expert to your clients by having names in your back pocket of the best subcontractors to help get the job done. When you can go above and beyond to provide that extra referral, you look that much more experienced and knowledgeable.

5. It's FUN!

Talk to anybody who's attended the first two years of NERCPO and they'll tell you NAPO-CT knows how to have a good time! We give killer swag bags, do goofy icebreakers, have fun breakout sessions, and hold contests with prizes. We like to keep things light and lively so everyone has a positive experience.

Have YOU signed up for NERCPO yet?

  • I had the privilege of speaking at the Halton-Peel Chapter of POC's Professional Development Day last year, and it was wonderful. Less expensive to attend than a national conference, and not so overwhelming for people who don't enjoy crowds or being away from home for several days. I would love to travel around and visit all the regional conferences if I could!

    • @Janet Barclay: Good points about attending a regional conference. I'm not a crowd person myself so these one-day affairs are more my speed. Though I am gearing up to attend NAPO's conference in Chicago next spring. Wish me luck!

  • This sounds like a great opportunity for organizers. I will definitely share with other organizers I know in the NE area. Thanks for sharing. I never heard of it before.
