What is the process for setting up an appointment?

If you are interested in scheduling an appointment, you can contact Classically Organized directly by email or phone. After a brief phone consult to ensure that Sarah is a good fit for your project and your mental health needs, a 45-minute intake appointment is scheduled in the home. During the intake, you will have the opportunity to review information about yourself including your current strengths and challenges, and the clutter hotspots in the home. A course of action is recommended and a schedule of in-home sessions is coordinated. In the event that you need to cancel, we request 24-hours notice prior to your scheduled appointment. No-shows will be billed for half the full session rate.

Where do appointments take place?

Appointments take place in the home. Classically Organized's tagline is "Connecting mind and home in harmony." The physical clutter in the home is often a side effect of the mental clutter in the head. It's best to meet in the home setting to work on both types of clutter simultaneously.

When do appointments take place?

Sarah has weekday and Saturday availability. Sessions typically last 2-3 hours. It's important to schedule appointments when you are at your best.

What happens during sessions?

Typically Sarah has an agenda in which the first part of the session is engaged in discussion or the "talk therapy" and the second part of the session is focused on the hands-on work. The discussion will include current challenges, organizational techniques, review of symptoms, coping skills, and exploration of feelings. The hands-on work involves sorting, categorizing, disposing of and finding homes for belongings.

Please know that Sarah is bonded and insured and follows strict codes of ethics through the National Association of Social Workers and National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals.

Do you take insurance?

Classically Organized does not purposefully accept or participate in any insurance programs because of the limitation insurance companies place on providers and clients. However, Sarah can provide receipts that can be submitted to your insurance plan if you have out-of-network benefits. In addition, many insurance plans offer Flexible Healthcare Spending Accounts that can be used to cover therapy. Please note that Sarah cannot guarantee your coverage or reimbursement. It is encouraged that you discuss these options directly with your insurance provider.

Some questions to ask your insurance company about out-of-network benefits are:

Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?

Is pre-approval required before obtaining mental health treatment in order to be reimbursed? (Sarah's State of CT License: LCSW 006431)

Will I be reimbursed the full amount or only a portion?

Do I have a deductible and if yes, what is the cap?

What is the cost and how can I pay?

The initial phone consult is a free 15-minute conversation.

The 45-minute intake appointment in the home is $60.

Session fees vary depending on the length of the appointment and the scope of the work involved.

Classically Organized accepts cash, check, or credit card (Mastercard, VISA, Discover).

Sarah also offers sliding scale arrangements for clients with limited financial means.
